An Evening With Rae: A Meet, Greet, & Tweet

On July, 15, 2010, “Ultimate Red Pump Rocker,” Rae Lewis-Thornton will host “An Evening with Rae: A Meet, Greet, & Tweet” at Encore Liquid Lounge, 171 West Randolph, Chicago, Illinois, from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. This is the first event hosted by the Emmy Award winning AIDS Activist. Dubbed “A Social Media Event, For A Socially Conscious Cause,” it will also be the official celebration of Rae’s blog, “Diva Living With AIDS.” Additionally, “An Evening with Rae,” will be the official launch for The PROTECTED Project ^(TM), which was created by Rae to bring attention to HIV/AIDS and promote prevention through personal responsibility. PROTECTED also emphasizes open communication among sexual partners to change the course of HIV/AIDS.

For years Rae has told her story of being infected with HIV in 1986 and seven years later, being diagnosed with full blown AIDS. Along with speaking about HIV/AIDS, Rae is also the creator and designer of RLT Collection, a line of handcrafted fashion bracelets. For “An Evening with Rae,” she is creating special DIVA AIDS Awareness bracelets. Over the years she has garnered many supporters and she has supported others around the work of HIV/AIDS, specifically Red Pump. Since Rae attended a Red Pump Meet Up, back in June 2009, she has been so encouraging towards us and the work that we do. “An Evening With Rae,” is a chance for all of us to pay that support forward and show our appreciation for the awe-inspiring work of Ms. Rae Lewis-Thornton.
