The Red Pump Project closed its doors.

We’re Rocking the Red Pump at the Chicago AIDS Walk/Run!

Chi Red Pump Rockers!

It’s that time of year again! The AIDS Foundation of Chicago is hosting their Annual AIDS Run & Walk, Saturday, October 2, 2010. There are over 22,000 reported cases of HIV/AIDS in Chicago. Of the 22,000, 4,866 are women. 76% of these women are black, 13% are Hispanic, 9% are white, and 2% are of another ethnicity. Women represent approximately 20% of new HIV infections in Chicago.

Last year, The Red Pump Project raised almost $2,000 that helped AFC support over 150 HIV/AIDS service organizations throughout Chicago. This year, ALL funds raised by Team Red Pump will directly benefit the Chicago Women’s AIDS Project (CWAP), through AFC’s CommunityDirect program. CWAP is the only organization in Chicago solely dedicated to providing gender-specific HIV prevention and care services to women at risk. We would love for you to participate in the walk with us this year, as we raise awareness and money for CWAP!
